    Unanswered: Restore Database

    Hi, i am new to Oracle, we need to restore the database for last Thursday. Could you please tell me detaill how to do it? Do i need sys password and system password? Thanks for your help.

    Please refer to your tested & documented Restoration procedure.

    Actual steps depend upon Operating System name & version, Oracle version (to 4 decimal places), and exactly how the backups were done.
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

    We have oracle 10g that run on Window server 2003. I don't know how they backup. I am just tempory assist as the DBA is out of office. Is it possible I can tell how they backup the database? Thanks for your help.
