    Unanswered: Querying member

    Hi All,

I am not very familiar with DB2 SQL syntax.

I need to query member. As what I searched, it said I need to create member as alias. For example,

    CREATE ALIAS RMSFILES84.CL_PA FOR RMSFILES84.INITP100 (M012)

    CREATE ALIAS RMSFILES84.CL_EC_PA FOR RMSFILES84.MSPMP100 (M012)

    Hi All,

I am not very familiar with DB2 SQL syntax.

I need to query member. As what I searched, it said I need to create member as alias. For example,

    CREATE ALIAS RMSFILES84.CL_PA FOR RMSFILES84.INITP100 (M012)

    CREATE ALIAS RMSFILES84.CL_EC_PA FOR RMSFILES84.MSPMP100 (M012)

    Then, I can
    SELECT ABCD, XXXX
    FROM rmsfiles84.CL_PA, rmsfiles84.CL_EC_PA

I have different member for each of our plant, total 7 plants.

I need to create 14 aliases in order to get the result I want.

I want to know if there is any other way to query member.

    Thanks in advance!

You need to give more information. First, what DB2 version and OS? What is "member"? You say you have to query it, but what is it? Why do you need to create an alias?

    AS400 members

    It is AS400 (V5R4).

For example, if there is a multiple member file MYLIB.MYFILE with members MBR1 ... CREATE ALIAS MYLIB.MYMBR2_ALIAS FOR MYLIB.MYFILE (MBR2)
