What was the
exact error message (including ORA-xxxxx number)?
it shows the error number 'ORA-03115 :unsupported network datatype or representation'
iam work on the toad
please give me the ideas
What version of Oracle are you using? The
error definition suggests you need to upgrade to resolve it:
ORA-03115 unsupported network datatype or representation
Cause: A user bind or define, or an Oracle function, is not supported by this heterogeneous Net8 connection.
Action: Upgrade the older version of Oracle and try again.
Iam using oracle version is
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 .
Weather this version is support or not iam mentioned the query.
pls give me tips.
iam using the toad version is TOAD 188.8.131.52.
If i try in sql plus this working fine or not?
I don't know - why don't you try SQL Plus and find out?
Your version of Toad is very old - I have Toad 9.1. Since this error message is apparently all about needing to upgrade to newer versions of tools, I would suggest that Toad 7.1 is probably too old to support what you are trying to do.
Iam tried in sql plus also.its shows the same error.
i don't know because iam using sql plus is latest version of oracle databse 10 only
can u clarify it.
When you start SQL Plus you get a banner message like:
What does yours say?
SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Tue Apr 7 13:25:37 2009
Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
If your SQL Plus is old, it may just not support your SQL and you may have to get your Oracle client software upgraded.
