    Unanswered: Help with report subtotal

    Hi I have report that based on sub query but when I put the subtotal formula I'm getting error. The feild name is [AmountSold] and I put this formula in the footer =sum([AmountSold]) please help.

    As answered elsewhere:

    Also make sure you don't have a control with the same name as the field. Since it looks like the field in your query/table is called AmountSold, make sure you don't have a textbox with the same name. If AmountSold is a calculated field:

    ACC2000: You Cannot Sum Calculated Controls in Forms or Reports

    Which footer??

    From memory, you can't do SUMs in page headers/footers, only report and group level headers/footers. I could be wrong though, it's been an eternity since I tried it.

    If AmountSold is a calculated field in a query, you can sum it. If it is calculated in the report, you can never sum it and you should calculate it in your query.
