    Unanswered: Import Files using Browse window

    Is there any way in Access I can import a file uing Browse window into a Database.
    The file I want to import is a Text file and i wanted to get a way to automatically import using the browse window. Also I wanted to have the file Delemited as to seperate text into columns by "|" . I tried saving the import sequecne thing but didnt know how to implement it into a form or a button ..Any body has any clue plz let me know..

    I think you can use the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303066 to get the file and then use the TransferText Method to bring it in.

    will it work for text file ...

    Thanks i looked at the post but going throughthe VB will it work for a text file that has to be delimited as it is seperated by a special character. didnt look like it would work for a text file it might just put it one column.

    Yes, but you will have to define and specify an Import Specification to look at the special character.

    I thought you could use an import specification, but if that doesn't work than you may need to use a FileSystemObject to parse through the text file.
