    Unanswered: Installation problem - syntax dont work

    Hello,
    I installed Postgresql 8.3.7 on Win XP sp3, created db with table and fill with data.
    Then I tried to write cursor for select. When I use OPEN cursor_name, sql rises syntax error
    ----------------------------------------
    ERROR: syntax error at or near "OPEN"
    LINE 2: OPEN krajeCursor;
    ^
    --------------------------------------
    then I tried some "experiments" and I see that declaration for char dont work..

    ERROR: syntax error at or near "char"
    LINE 8: DECLARE krajeNazev char(50);

    PRINT in procedure dont work.. etc.

    Probably its something wrong with settings or installatino.

    plsql is still installed, I tested it with

    SELECT * FROM pg_catalog.pg_language WHERE lanname = 'plpgsql';
    and result return
    "plpgsql";10;t;t;16384;16385;""

    Do anybody know where can be the bug??

    Thanks

    PRINT is a Microsoft SQL Server statement. That will not work with Postgres.

    Show us the full source code of the procedure you are trying to create (maybe including the DDL of the tables you want to access), otherwise I'm afraid we'll have to wait until a working copy of "TheCrystalBall" will be released.
