Unanswered: Server 2000 Getting email alerts to stop after first occurence

    Hi,

We have a log shipping process that continues out of hours with alerts set up to send an email notification should anything go wrong.

If one of the DBs gets out of sync the alert is raised and an email sent. Trouble is if this occurs out of hours an email will be sent every 2 minutes until we manually fix the issue.

Does anyone know of a way to get these alerts to fire once then shut up?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Fyi

All the alert configurations are stored in the dbo.sysalerts table on msdb. In Server 2000 the response tab of the alert properties allows you to run an agent job.

I simply made a job to update the above table and set enabled to false for the correct alert then reference it in said tab. The alert disables itself (hopefully after the email is sent
