    Unanswered: DTS/SSI Sql Server 2005

    Hello everyone,

I'm using Sql Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005

I am trying to learn how to do SSI/DTS in Sql Server 2005 and have found several tutorials on this using Visual studio 2005. In order to use visual studio you apparently have to have a project template for a Data Transformation project. I have some of the other database templates but I don't have this one. I've tried googling for the project template but I haven't been able to find it. The tutorial I'm trying to use is at Introduction to SSIS in SQL Server 2005 - SQLServerCentral

Does anyone know where I can download this template from?

    Thanks

That tutorial looks suspiciously out of date. (I notice it was published in 2004...)

You're looking for an Integration Services Project. See the attached screen shot.

    Ssi 2005

Thanks you are correct. Just a couple of more questions please.

Do you know where I can find a more current tutorial? There are probably other things in this tutorial that are out of data and I don't want to be completely lost.

I am at work and have the template available. At home should I have the same template available if I only have Sql Server 2005 Express? I do have VStudio 2005 professional

    Thanks
    GEM

The SSIS project is included in the BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) which can be installed on the client from the SQL Server 2005 disk(s).
