    BCNF Help

    I've been toying w/ this problem for.. pfft.. couple days now.
    trying to decompose into BCNF.

    here is what it all looks like. F={A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H}

    A -> C
    A -> G
    A -> H
    AD -> C
    DE -> F
    G -> H

    pretty sure that if I see how this is done I can figure out the flow.. this is just the beginning piece to a very large problem.

    What have you done so far? Remembering that BCNF means every non-trivial determinant is a superkey...

    If you're having difficulties with just the beginning piece then it might be worth asking yourself whether you're suited to your course.

    The first step to getting into BCNF is getting into 1NF.
    The second step is 2NF.
    Etc.

    As you can probably tell already, you will get short shrift here unless you do some work.

    or (assuming that you have attended the lecturers, tutorials, you've read the books, followed the references and done some research of your own) perhaps your tutor/lecturer perhaps ought to ask themselves if they are suited to that course
    I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
