Unanswered: How to insert data into CLOB/BLOB field

    Hi All
I would like to know, how to insert data (A Word Doc, XLS sheet) into a column which is declared as CLOB/BLOB on Z/oS.

We have a DB2 in Mainframe that has a column defined to support Large Objects. Would like a Script that would enable us to upload a WORD DOCUMENT or XLS or PPT etc. to the table.

    Thanks in Anticipation

There is nothing special about LOBs. Just use a regular INSERT statement for that.

you can do this with import and replace the lob value by the path to the file to be loaded in the lob-col
import ... modified by lobsinfile ... has to be used for this

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
