    Unanswered: ? postgresql does not accept \ in values?

    please help quickly...

    postgresql does not accept \ in values?

    data type is tested as : char varing 250
    text
    etc....

    connection
    odbc using vb6 codes

    just a normal insert into....with
    file_name="c:\asdfasdf\asdf\asdf\a\asdljlasdk.tif"


    but in the database
    it shows
    c:asdfasdfasdfasdfaasdljlasdk


    also the .tif is not taken

    it also gives a runtime error


    please help

    You need to use two backslashes if you want a backslash.
