Unanswered: Control Source Unbound Text Box

I having a real problem assigning a control source to an unbound text box in a subReport.

    Textbox Name : RanconTotalRecs

Source is a sum calculation from a query stored as a variable named "TotalRecs."

I select the text box, then Properties, then the query name then the TotalRecs, which places this in the RanconTotalRecs text box:

    [qryRanconProg]![TotalRecs]

But this fails. No error messsage - nothing.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

    Rick

Presuming that query isn't part of the form's source, you can't reference it like that. Try

    =DLookup("TotalRecs", "qryRanconProg")

    IT Works!

Although I have at least 30 other reports that are NOT configuered as your suggestion - however, I'm not sure the true paths of the stored queries or variables, and I have many sub reports with differrent queries too.

    It's so darn confusing.

I'm printing your message and saving it.

    Thanks Paul.

You could only use what you posted if that query was part of the source of the form. I think you'll find that to be the case in the reports where it works.
