    Unanswered: Nonprinting characters

    I need to add non printing characters to some cells, this is for code that will run in many different files and these non printing chars will be used to find input areas.

    How can i do this? Is this the best way to handle this? I can't use a named range and the inputs will be in different places in diff files. Also the end user wants to make sure no one will know that this is in the file.

    Thank you.

    I dont know about non printing chars but i use the elipsis

    ActiveCell.Value = ActiveCell.Value & Chr(133)

    Dim s As String
    s = Chr(133)

    Cells.Find(What:=s, After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt:= _
    xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:=False _
    , SearchFormat:=False).Activate

    hope it helps as far as not displaying or printing thats a good idea, maybe change the color of the text to the back color of cell for not displaying, but not printing i dont know
