Red face Unanswered: Problems while configuring HTTP 2.2 and PHP 5.x

    Hello,

I am configuring AMP on Windows XP.

The version of Apache is 2.2.11 and PHP is 5.2.9.

Initially, when I installed Apache, the http service came up properly. However, after adding the following lines to httpd.conf, the HTTP Server is not coming up.

    LoadModule php5_module "C:\PHP\php5apache2_2.dll"

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
    AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
    PHPIniDir "c:\php"

I am getting the following error:
    The requested operation has failed!

I am new to Apache and PHP. I will truly appreciate any help that is rendered.

    Regards,
    Naveen.

did you try the easy way of downloading the XAMP package?
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

xamp is a composite package that includes php, apache, mysql and one or two other bits and pieces. because its all from the same source it installs easily all dependencies and config is done for you. its not a safe installation for a production site (because it sets things up in the simplest way possible). that means you will have to make changes tot he installation if its for a production site. its designed for people who are 'dipping' their toes in the water of installing a web development environment.

as to where you download it I'd suggest you do a google
