    Unanswered: How to Sum a value in a text box

    Hi All,

    i want to know how to sum a value in a text box which appears in a group header in an access 2000 report.

    I have tried using:
    =Sum([txtAmount]) - 'txtAmount' is the name of the textbox that holds the value

    but it does not work. When i run the report it treats it as a parameter value and you have to enter a value before it will display the report, but the value is incorrect anyway.

    Any help would be most appreciated, the sooner the better.

    Is txtAmount by any chance a calculated value? You can't use Aggregate Functions against calculated fields, you have to use them against the expressions used to calculate them. If

    C = A + B

    you can't use

    you have to use

    Sum(A + B)
    Hope this helps!

    txtAmount is not a calculated field. It is manually entered by the user, and is dependant on the price that was agreed with the customer.
