Unanswered: Active Directory and Access 2007

    Hello to all,

I have spent alot of time searching this issue but can not find an answer that works... So I am hoping that by posting my request, your great minds can help me out...!!!!

I have a created an Access 2007 database in which users login to it. Currently, I have a table that contains a listing of employees that I use to enable/disable access.

Due to the increasing size of the database uses and the number of people required to use it, I would like to have a table that is linked to the Active Directory. I would then use this information for multiple purposes... i.e. login history, populating combo boxes and an easier way to allow access to the database...

I am in need of VBA coding / Query setup to access the Active Directory. I am not familiar with LDAP and would not know where to find that information...

Could anyone please point me in the right direction???

    Thank you in advance!!!

    SgtDep

Check out the code bank. I am sure I have seen something there regarding the Active Directory.

Yes. I played around with Active Directory and posted this example in the code bank: http://www.dbforums.com/6296643-post48.html

It's difficult though to retrieve other information versus what's in this example. There's a few security issues with getting that information and I couldn't find a way to get a user's permission information to certain folders and other information. You can do a search on Active Directory on the Microsoft website which has some examples. It's not easy though. Hopefully you can find some useful stuff I experimented with in the example code on getting LDAP info. First though you'll have to find out where that LDAP info is stored and replace the line to access it in the example code.
