Unanswered: Regarding access permission to Pervasive database

    Hi,
I have an application whose backend is Btrieve. So it has DDF/DTA files.
Currently I have no Btrieve database. For Database I'm using Pervasive.
I have taken the files(DDF/DTA) from Btrieve repository and place them in pervasive repository to view the data. But at Pervasive I'm unable to add/modify data. It shows error like "you are not authorized to do that".

    Any quick suggestion/help regarding this.

    Thanks in advance...
    Bijay

If this is an upgrade from an old version of PSQL, it's very possible you've got data files (DDF/DTA) in v5.x format. Newer versions (PSQL v9 and later) will let you read v5.x files but will not write to them and will return a status 51.

THe "you are not authorized to do that" message is not a PSQL specific error. PSQL always returns a number error code. if you post that, we might be able to give better suggestions.

    Hi,
While adding data to a specific table(in Pervasive) it shows the error :You are not authorized to perform this operation.

while openinig the ddf files(X$Field/X$User/X$Rights/X$Index), it will shows the following eror.

ODBC Error: SQLSTATE = S1000, Native error code = 0
    Unable to open table: X$Field.
You are not authorized to perform this operation.

Adding data directly to the DDFs is not supported or allowed. The DDFs have a owner name on them that prevents direct editing. You need to use CREATE TABLE, ALTER TABLE, and DROP TABLE statements to affect the DDFs.

What are you trying to do?
