    Question Unanswered: Stored Procedure issue

    i have a simple procedure :

    Create Procedure test(writerName VarCHar(100))
    BEGIN
    select * from writers where w_name = writerName;
    END

    but when i use : call test('Allen');

    i get this error :
    illegal mix of collations (utf8_persian_ci,IMPLICIT) And (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation = .

    the writers table have : utf8_persian_ci collation and utf8 Chracter Set !

    Hi,

    no answer to my question means :

    1. Using Stored Procedures in mysql is not familiar to developers and they cannot suggest solvable answers !

    2. my question is too strange and no one have encountered ever !

    please let me know what do you think about this issue !

    is that issue is resolved.
    if yes then,how have you done to resolve it.
