    Question Unanswered: Questions - acFormat

    Hello guys

I'm trying to send a report via Email with the option (SNP) snapshot format which works perfectly fine. The problem is that if the reicipient doesn't have MS Access installed, he/she will no be able to open the file. Now the reason i'm using thist format is that is imperative that the report cannot be modified as it contains critical information, tried RTF and the other options for acFormat available but cannot use those as they provide the ability to change the report. Any other ideas?

    thanks in advance
    Carlos

Microsoft has a free Snapshot Viewer that you can send a link to so the receipient can view the report without having Access.

Short of the user having Access installed? Not that I'm aware of. What kind of "other" option did you have in mind?

You know you can create your report as a PDF, right? What version of Access are you using?

Currently using 2003 but last night I did some research and found out that in 2007 u can save in pdf and xps, xps would be the preferred one as it only requires IE, If I'm correct. Currently in 2003 I can print to a file using MS XPS document writer, too bad that this option in not part of Access.
I guess I might have to upgrade after all

    Thanks anyway RuralGuy

You can create PDFs in any version of Access (with a little difficulty) and imo, that would be preferable to an XPS file and upgrading to 2007.

Almost everyone has Acrobat or some form of PDF reader. I'm with StarTrekker here. Stephan Lebans has a ReportToPDF that works rather well.
