Unanswered: Oracle Enterprise Manager not starting from browser

    Hi,

I have downloaded Oracle 10g from Oracle site, and installed succesfully on Windows xp. I start the enterprise manager by running: emctl start dbconsole. This too is successful. However when I type http://utkarsh:1158/em on the browser, I get error msg: Unable to connect.

    Please advise.

    Thanks & Regards,
    SK

    Is Apache running?

Check the Oracle documentation. DBConsole is not the same as OEM.

I believe the port for DBConsole is different, try the default 5500

Or run emctl status dbconsole on the command line and you 'MAY' see the port to use
