Unanswered: Query taking too long resulting in 'ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'

    Hi all,

I have this one query that takes a few minutes to complete.

If I use Visual Studio to execute the query via database tools, it takes about 3 minutes and returns about 110 000 rows, 4 columns.

The same query works in other cases when there is less data to be returned. This problem has just popped up.

I have an old ASP page (visual basic script) that does the exact some query (I even copied and pasted the query... so no variables...) and the query sits there for a long time before resulting in 'ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'.

I'm pretty sure this is some kind of timeout or max rows issue as if I limit the number of returned entries by Select TOP 5000 xxxxx then it works fine.

I have tried adjust the following times.
ADODB connection. CommandTimeout set to 3600 and 0 (basically no command timeout)

    Server.Scriptimeout 3600

as well as on MS SQL Server:
    Connections-Remote query timeout = 1800

Can anyone think of anything else here?
