I am trying to create what I thought was a simple database to store exercise/workout data. It seemed simple enough, however, I am having problems visualizing how certain information should be stored. Below are the basic requirements:

  1. There will be a set selection of exercises that may be performed
  2. Each exercise varies with regard to the number of sets that will be performed, some will be 1 set and others will be 2 sets
  3. Some exercises will require weights and some will not


It is really the varying sets and the weight/no-weight that is throwing me off with regard to how to design the database. I am sure this is quite simple, however, I am a novice database designer at best. If someone is willing to take the time to illustrate/explain how the table structure for a database like this would be setup I would greatly appreciate it.
