Unanswered: Differences between LOB/SIMPLE/SEGMENTED/PARTITIONED Tablespaces
I want to understand the differences between SIMPLE/SEGMENTED/PARTITIONED/LOB Tablespaces before i use them for my database design. Is there any document listing the differences between these 4 types of tablespaces on DB2 V 9.5
And is there anything called as LONG Tablespaces in DB2 V9.5 . I am also confused between LONG and LOB tablespaces.
Can some one clarify ?

You are confused. DB2 for z/OS and DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows (LUW) are different products. DB2 for LUW does not have simple, segmentated, LOB, and partitioned tablespaces (these for for DB2 z/OS).
If you want to see the tablespace types for DB2 LUW, refer to the SQL Reference Vol 2. For more information, see the WindowsData Servers, Databases, and Database Objects Guide, which is available in PDF for download at the IBM website for no charge.M. A. Feldman
