    Red face Unanswered: Parallel Processing

I have one lakh records in a table i need to process this records through calling API . When i call it sequencially it takes 6-8 hours to complete .

I want to reduce this time dratically. Any suggestion.

Do we have option in oracle so that it can work parallel processing.

Can we apply dbms_job on this records to run parallel.

    Please help

    Where is time being spent?
to find out do the following:
    ALTER SESSION SET SQL_TRACE=TRUE

Process the trace file with tkprof & EXPLAIN=username/password

you can use hint in your query to access the record in parallel or define degree on the table to get rows in parallel by default.

But it will depend upon number CPUs in machine and what operation you are carrying out on this records.
