    Unanswered: How to know when an SSIS is updated in SQL 2005?

    I mean in SQL 2005.
    Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    You are right. SSIS packages are saved in msdb. There is no dtsx file.

    Save it to a dtsx file and check it in to source control. Just as I wouldn't create a procedure or table without saving the source code I think the same policy should apply to SSIS.
