    Red face Unanswered: listener Error error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.10.1:

    OS: Most current for Redhat
    Orcl: 10.2.0.4
    app: Arcsight
    During a software install, the applications loads Oracle via OEM. However when attempting start a linstener. I get the following error

    /home/oracle/OraHome10g/bin/tnslsnr: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00517: Lost contact
    Linux Error: 32: Broken pipe

    [root@servername bin]# env| grep ORA
    ORACLE_SID=arcsght4
    ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/OraHome10g

    I'm stumped as to why this has occurred. Any help would be gratly welcomed

    is LD_LIBRARY_PATH set?

    Yes the path is set to:

    does libclntsh.so.10.1 reside in /home/oracle/OraHome10g/lib

    You can/should create a softlink from where ever it resides in which ever version so the linker can find it.

    Listner Error

    I finally found a work around. I created a new listner and the deleted the other listner, and everything seems to be working fine.
