    Unanswered: Thread Creation Failed.

    Hi,

I'm trying to restore few Databases from Production to Test using Restore Database command in a Proc over UNC path which is scheduled as a job.

The Job fails, and the following error is logged in the error Log

Thread creation failed. Running BACKUP/RESTORE cleanup.,0

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I'm able to run the same procedure from Query Analyzer without any issues and completes the restoration successfully.

This may be a dumb question but does the SQL Service Agent account have permissions to the UNC path? This sounds like a permissions error of some kind.

    Hi,

Yes the SQL Services Agent account service runs using a domain user account with the read/write permissions on the UNC path where the backups are stored as well as where the database restore path.

Incidentally, I was informed that max worker threads may be low on the replication serve, but it seems that I have 255 worker threads and I feel that this is good enough number to run most of the tasks.

    Regards,

    Tushar
