    Unanswered: database login

    Hi,

    recently i installed oracle 9i in my system . i login to the oracle using scott/tiger@ora.then it is working fine. i want to goto login for dba to create another users like that .

    under the scott user only i gave the command like

    conn /as sysdba; but it giving message like ora-010301 insufficient privilges.

    iam trying to login with system/manager@ora also iam not going to login plz help me how i will login for dba mode.

    Duck please let me know which document i read for that 'setting up remote_login_password file' i click on the link which was send by you but there are many document are there in which document find this set up remote login password.

    Ramana, The_Duck has told you what you need to be looking for - if you really can't find it in the documents then you could always try googling for 'remote_login_passwordfile'
    90% of users' problems can be resolved by punching them - the other 10% by switching off their PCs.

    It may be an environment problem.
    Assuming you're using windows, from the command line type 'SET ORACLE_SID = <your Db SID>' and then try SQLPLUS / AS SYSDBA

    please tell me where can i find the ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory then i can follow your steps according your attached document .

    Check under the Oracle home installed on the server.....
