Unanswered: DSN to a Sybase 12.5.4 database within MS Access 2003

    Hi,

I am getting the following error when testing DSN to a Sybase 12.5.4 database within MS Access 2003. When trying to import or link table I get

    reserved error (-7748).

Has anyone faced a similar kind of issue? Could it be related to DSN settings,ODBC drivers or any registry settings?

    Let me know ASAP.

    Thanks

Is the test successful when you click on "test connection" in the DSN administrator?

DSN to a sybase 12.5.4 database within MS Access 2003

    Hi,

I've tried to import to MS Excel (using same DSN) and had no issue.

    Thanks

Some of the WorkArounds sections may do the trick ...
A quick Google search showed up this :

This solution given to me by Sybase worked for me:
Apparently this error is an Access issue. However, to workaround this
you will need to go into the registry and add a new string value to
    the ODBC DSN.

    Bring up regedit.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    + Software
    + ODBC
    +ODBC.ini
Select the Data Source that you are using.
Right mouse click and select New, String Value (the name is case
    sensitive) Call it WorkArounds2
Then select the WorkArounds2 and select Modify, give this a Value of
    40960.
That will create the String Value of WorkArounds2=40960

Then attempt the link to the table.
