Unanswered: Database Backup Restore Error in SQL Server 2008

I am trying to restore the database in SQL Server 2008. The backup file is from SQL Server 2005. I have seen that in SQL Server 2008, you can directly restore backup from the device like a CD and there is no need to copy the data into the computer. Here's the error message:

    -----------------
An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch.
    (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)

    Additional information:
Read on D:\backupdata.bak failed:87 (The parameter is incorrect.)
RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3203)

    -----------------

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

ANyways, I copied the CD contents to my computer and it seems to be working. I installed this database on my machine and I may have missed some config stuff.

On another machine which had the SQL 2008 installed, I have restored directly from the CD. Does anyone know what settings need to be in place?

    Thanks
