    Question Unanswered: Export To Word

    Hi,
I have a form which is based on a query in an access database. I would like to add a button to it that will open a document template and insert the information from that form - similar to a mail merge but using only the one record from the form.
I know that i could do this using mail merge and applying a filter but i need a way that will automatically open up the finished letter when the button is pressed so that the mail merge wizard is not displayed.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Welcome to the forums

Have a look into using formfields.

Put Bookmarks in the Word doc and have Access open it and insert the data from Access. It insert the data for the record being displayed by the form. I use Access to Word a lot rather than Access Reports.

You can also have Word with a linked query in it. If you fiddle about with the format (actually, quite a bit of fiddling) and have no headers on the query then the Access data will look just like it was typed in.

the alternative is to suck in the word document into an Access report...
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
