Question Unanswered: About differential db bakup

    Hello experts,

    I'm a new db administrator.

I have to bakup db in differential mode. Anybody tell me how to do this task?

It seem that to bakup transactions only is called bakup differentials in sql 2000. Is it right?

    many thanks,

    magaret.luong

A differential backup and a transaction log backup are two very different things. Differential backups were available in SQL 2000.

How to take a differential backup depends on how you are backing up the database(s) to begin with.

    thanks Scott,

you are right. I have to code manually for differentails bakup.

If database is mall enough, we'd better use full bakup instead.
