Unanswered: Access 2007 - Report Design - Fields and labels grouped together

When I design a report in Access 2007, using the report design wizard, the labels and fields appear to be automatically grouped, linked, together. This grouping is such that changing a label width automatically changes the field width. In most cases this option is great, however, I sometimes like to expand a label into two lines to clarify a field's value. With this Access 2007 option, the report field automatically increases to 2 lines. I've tried to ungroup the label/field and look for a property dialog setting to detach the label from the field. However, I can not find any settings/option that works. I've also noticed that it is almost impossible to insert an new field and label into detail line, after the report has been 'designed'. Again it appears a group option has been set, but I can't seem to ungroup the field and labels

    Thanks

To ungroup them, select the group and then Arrange - Ungroup.

The little button is kinda hard to spot, so... here's a picture

Thanks, I looked right past that option.

This didn't work for me, but what does work is select the field, right mouse click, Layout, Remove. This removes the bond the label and field have and you can then delete, move or change them independently.

I have probably wasted years of my life re-learning Microsofts "intuitive" logic!

Ah but that is a different problem.

The topic is about grouping multiple controls (perhaps several textboxes) whereas you are dealing with ONE control (like one textbox),... which can have a label attached to it or not.

Has anyone run into the situation where the group/ungroup toolbar buttons are disabled? I've looked everywhere in the Access options and I come up with ZIP. Those two toolbars are disabled and I can't ungroup the labels from the text boxes I want to ungroup, so that I can discard the labels.
