    Red face Unanswered: service handle not initialized

    Hi ALL,

    I am beignner of oracle dba activity. I am using windows based oracle database. Whenever i startup the database i am getting below error

    SQL> startup mount
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor

    Then after some time again i tried to startup the database now getting below error

    SQL> startup mount
    ORA-24324: service handle not initialized
    ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

    I checked with this below command

    SQL> show parameter local

    NAME TYPE VALUE
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    local_listener string SANKARA
    log_archive_local_first boolean TRUE

    If it is not correct please give me the solution


    please any one help me to resolve this issue.

    OK, as you are a beginner this is probably the easiest page to help you resolve your problem:

    If you are still stuck then report back here....
