Unanswered: MS Access 2003 report Not adding two fields

    Hi,
I have this formula in a field to add two values together (=[Curr_Vis_Out]+[Curr_Vis_In]). It appears to be concatenating the two values as opposed to adding them. I did the same formula in a query and it also concatenated them.

    Please help.
    Thanks

It would only concatenate if they were Text fields. You sure they are the correct field type (Number)?

They are derived columns in a query but yes, the fields are defined as numbers in the base table.

Have you tried CInt or CLng on the values prior to adding them?

Excellent! As an FYI, if you need decimal precision, use CDbl.
