    Unanswered: Access 2000 AutoNumber problem

First post on this site and looking for some help.

I have created a new post register database for our office and I am populating the common fields with the legacy data from our previous register.

    Here's the problem:

I turned off AutoNumber on a field that generates the job number in the database to be able to paste in the legacy data. Now I cannot reactivate AutoNumber on a field that contains data. Is there a way of manually assigning a function here that performs a '+1' number function in relation to the previous record? My last record is 11826 and I want the next created record populate the field with 11827 and so on.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Gotta love the Code Bank

You should be able to modify Izy's sequential number generator -Sequential Numbers/Auto-Reference DAO/One of many Unlocking Strategies - to generate job numbers.
