Unanswered: Second invocation of Online Backup while first was running. Why ??

Second invocation of Online Backup while first was running.

For last 3 days I am getting notification of ONLINE BACKUP failure from task center. When I check I still see that Online Backup was running. This completes normally after 2 hours.

The task is scheduled to run as an action of another task success. Today this started at 12:12 am while second event tried to invoke another one at 1:04 am

Will some one give me a clue how to find :
    1. What has caused to start the scheduled task second time ??
    2. What can be done to keep other triggering off the running task.
I mean, to prevent double execution of online backup.
    Please advise

I think you have your answer already.

If your backup job is trigger by another event. Check how often that event is executed and work from there.

I posted after all checks. There is no other job sending start event to this one. By the way this job had been being run at 12:30am and now schedule is disabled. Currently it is started by PROFIT_LOSS job on success.

Db2 Ver 9.1.3. This could be a bug.

As I remember few months ago when I changed this scheduled task from 2:00am to 1:00am; this started at 1:00am and after an hour another invocation had troubled first run. The backup was terminated and new run was started. This time first run was not terminated because second wanted to start from a tablespace which was already being backed up.

The only solution seems to be either I delete this task and recreate new one. OR maybe I have to reinstall ADMIN server or DB.

Someone who has such an experience can help only.

    Waiting for some idea.
