    Unanswered: CPU Wait Time & DB2 Performance

    Env: DB2 8.2 / AIX 5.3

    AIX Server hosts only DB2 server and sometimes CPU is more in wait time(around 30%). What could be the reason for this ? How to do PD for this problem ? Any suggestions

    System configuration: lcpu=16 mem=49151MB

    I'd say your system is I/O bound. IBM advices 20 disk-spindels per CPU-core to keep the CPU busy. So look at your hardware configuration.
