    Unanswered: connect single user mode

    I have sql server 2005 installed on windows xp
    I have started the server in single user mode sqlservr -c -sSQLEXPRESS -m -T3608
    I want to connect to command window or any other to execute a detach of model database but always get an error : Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. ..
    how to connect from command window to server in single user mode ?

    Make sure that no other process is grabbing that one connection. SQLAgent might be getting it, or some application on the box.

    write a batch file:
    sqlservr -c -sSQLEXPRESS -m -T3608
    sqlcmd -SSQLEXPRESS
    "The data in a record depends on the Key to the record, the Whole Key, and
    nothing but the Key, so help me Codd."
