Unanswered: restoring DB with different name

    Hi everyone,

I have a scenario : need to restore PROD DB (oracle 10.2.0.4) to UAT server. But, the name of exisitng UAT DB is diffferent. I have RMAN full DB backup. I know export/import would owkr as the physical structure is same. But, does anyone know how to restore wiht different DB ????

export/import doesn't care what the database name is, only the schema names. assuming that they are the same version, simply export from the production DB as a consistent export and import it into the other database.
