Unanswered: PostgreSQL - Using all resources

    Hey guys,

I have a pretty old linux server running Red Hat 6.2. This server runs software that controls billing and accounts for my dialup clients. This is all good and well however lately it appears that the PostgreSQL service is using all the system resources. Upgrading to a newer version of my linux isnt really an option. Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appricated.

    Thanks alot

PS. I have very limted knowledge and experiance with linux, however I have contractors that normally service my linux box but they have no experiance with postgreSQL.

If you're not doing it, maybe you should try to periodically vacuum the table using CRON job or something.

You don't say what version of PostgreSQL you're using.
