Unanswered: Running SP from another machine

    Hi,

I have a wi2k3 server machine having sql2005 server in it called lab1 which has a SP. I have another win2k3 machine without any sql installed on it called lab2.

Is it possible for me to run/execute the SP on lab1 from lab2 via cmd promt or by create a batch file?

if yes, how would i do that? is there any article i can look for reference?

sqlcmd via batch files but I think you might need the client tools installed.
“If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.

Not the full server, just the client tools. Alternatively, you could write a VB script to run the proc.
