Thumbs up Unanswered: How to find version string?UDB 6,7,8,9.

    Hello Friends

I have over 750 hosts where various versions of UDB DB2 is installed.

    Versions include : 6,7,8,9.

I want to know if after installing any of the above products, the version string, does it get recorded in any static file?

I want to get the version info from a static file.

I am aware of 'db2level' and 'db2ls' commands but i may not have privilages on all boxes to run those;that too 'db2ls' was given by IBM sometime after V8.1.

I am writing a fingerprint to capture version strings across all these hosts.

    Regards
    Abhijeet

    Thumbs up

    thanks ratheesh...

but everything under "adm" folder will be owned by either 'bin' or 'root'.I have never run 'db2licm' myself but i guess its an executable ...i do not have privilages to run it ....

I am trying to find out if version of that product gets recorded into a file on the filesystem.

    Regards

Search for a file "global.reg". You can use "strings global.reg" to see its content or try command "db2greg -dump".
