    Unanswered: Searcing in Access

    Hello,
    I have a problem.
I am trying to compare two lists of account numbers. The first list has only ten numbers and the second one has twelve. I need to find a way to tell access to only look for the first ten part numbers. I am searching in the design view. i do not know how to use SQL.
    thanks

    consider using the like predicate

    eg
    where accountnumber like "1234567890*"

    or
    left(accountnumber,10) = "1234567890"

using the left function will have a performance hit.
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
