    Thumbs down Unanswered: Clarification on RETURNING Clause usage

    Hi ,

    I am trying to get an equivalent for SQL Server's OUTPUT clause in Oracle .
    I believe RETURNING Clause will best suits for it .

    By using RETURNING Clause ,Is it possible to return the inserted values to a database table.
    Please suggest me hot to use RETURNING clause for returning values to a Table

    UPDATE employees SET salary = salary * 1.1
    WHERE employee_id = 12345
    RETURNING last_name, salary INTO x_lname,x_sal;
    You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
