Unanswered: NATURAL Language Stored Procedures in DB2

    Hi All,

I am not quite familiar with DB2 / NATURAL concepts.

I would like to know if DB2 supports stored procedures written in NATURAL language?

What i would like to know is that whether NATURAL stored procedures could be compiled in DB2 database?

Any help in this direction would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Paresh

Are you talking about the Natural Language from Adabas?

DB2 z/OS stored procedures can be written in the following:
    SQL
    ASSEMBLER
    C
    COBOL
    JAVA
    PLI
    REXX

    For DB2 LUW:
    SQL
    C
    COBOL
    JAVA
CLR (a method in a .NET class)
OLE (a method exposed by an OLE automation object)

    Thanks Markus for your reply.

Yes I was talking about the NATURAL language from Software AG.

From your post, can I infer that Stored Procedures CANNOT be written in NATURAL language for DB2 on z/OS as well as DB2 on LUW?

    Thanks,
    Paresh

Correct. Natural from Software AG cannot be used to code db2 stored procedures.
