Unanswered: Oracle Data Guard newbie
Hi, I'm a newbie to Oracle. We've been using DB2 HADR solution for a while now for standby replication and now need to migrate to Oracle. From what I've read Oracle Data Guard is the comparable solution. What I'm looking for is a list of gotcha's or "what we can't do" using this this type of replication. IE direct loads, DDL changes, index changes etc. Also how do we know if replication gets out of sync etc? What would occur during fail over?
Any resources or links that can help me would be appreciated?

Search and Download Oracle Database, Application Server, and Collaboration Suite DocumentationYou can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
