    Unanswered: restore with different code page

    Can we restore an offline backup of a v8 database with code page 819 to a v9.7 database with code page 1208?

    I don't see why not. However, I think you will have the database with the code page 819 in the end.

    You can't change the codepage during restore:
    IBM DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and Windows Information Center

    "When restoring a backup image with one code page into a system with a different codepage, the system code page will be overwritten by the code page of the backup image."

    You'll need "db2move" for this.
