Thumbs down Unanswered: Sybase 15.0 installation issue on sles10-sp2PPC

    Hi,

I am installing sybase on sles10-sp2 on IBM power pc's.
When installing I get error that JRE could not found but I had installed
    jave,JDK and JRE also.

    below is output.

    Jave version shows correctly.

    ibm-java-ppc64-sdk-6.0-5.0
    ibm-java-ppc64-jre-6.0-5.0
    ibm-java-ppc64-javacomm-3.0-0.0

    sybaseinstallables./java -version
    /opt/ibm/java-ppc64-60/jre/binjava version "1.6.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pxp6460sr5-20090529_04(SR5))
    IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, J2RE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 Linux ppc64-64
    jvmxp6460sr5-20090519_35743 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
    J9VM - 20090519_035743_BHdSMr
    JIT - r9_20090518_2017
    GC - 20090417_AA)
    JCL - 20090529_01

    But installation terminated with below error;

    sybaseinstallables> ./setup

This application requires a Java Run Time Environment (JRE)

to run. Searching for one on your computer was not successful.

Please use the command line switch -is:javahome to specify

a valid JRE. For more help use the option -is:help.

I used command line switch also as below.

    ../setup -javahome /opt/ibm/java-ppc64-60/jre/bin/

    Please suggest me.

    Hi,

    Use
    export JAVA_HOME="/opt/ibm/java-ppc64-60/jre/bin/"
    and start your setup.

Then check echo $JAVA_HOME variable output at OS level.

If it is pointing to correct java directory then....it is problem with the zip file which you collected from.
