Unanswered: SOLVED: Sort name pairs with related totals

SOLVED: I am a beginner Access 2007 user. I've imported a large db and would like to sort field pairs (like same first and last names) and total related fields. It seems simple enough but I haven't gotten there yet. Could someone point me in the right direction? Ultimately I would like to easily repeat this inquiry regularly using different field pairs.

    Thanks.

    Have a look at QUERIES.

You can sort by anything you want and use the totals button to give you counts or sums or whatever too

And you can save them so you can just run them again.

Thank you. The queries do get me almost there. What I haven't figured out is how to isolate the "John Brown" field combinations from the "Sue Smith" combinations to where I could total data relative only to all the "John Brown"s in the database. (Each John Brown is unique)

    Thanks.

Use a WHERE clause: such as: SELECT * FROM emp_table WHERE fname = "John" AND lname = "Brown"
